Producing 50+ ranking audiobook lists in less than 6 months.

When Audible came to us, they had multiple different content marketing campaigns and partners operating at once but were struggling to move the needle on any of their long-term traffic goals. After performing in-depth brand analysis and keyword research, we uncovered a golden SEO opportunity — a cachet of hundreds of "best X audiobooks" queries for which Audible either had content that was not ranking or had no content at all.


We set out to produce 50 "best audiobooks" list posts of about 20 summaries each. Acting as project manager and primary content writer, I wrote close to 400 individual audiobook summaries in roughly six months while managing and editing a staff of five freelance writers. As a writer, this project was particularly challenging given that each summary needed to be deeply specific — including detailed descriptions of both the plot and the audio performance — and we, of course, didn't have time to actually read or listen to any of the audiobooks. 


At the end of the contract, the Audible "best audiobooks" project was generating over $25,000 in monthly traffic value. Of the 50+ published posts, 30 ranked #1 for their keyword and 48 appeared on the first page of the SERP.
